A Sanctuary's Reporting Policy

First and foremost that must be clear is that A Sanctuary is not designed as a reporting agency. We are here to offer understan ding, compassion, and resources as they become available . These resources may include reporting agencies for your use, if you desire to report any crimes commited against you.

It is our reporting policy that if identifying information is posted on Your Sanctuary and/or A Sanctuary or any other sites directly attached to asanctuary.net, we are obligated to protect the suspected attacker/perpetrator against publicity until such time that the attacker/perpetrator has bee found to be guilty by and thusly convicted by a court of law.

If the victim is under the age of eighteen (18) we may be be required by law to report the incident depending upon the country the victim or attacker/perpetrator live in. It is our reporting policy in regard to any minor under the age of eighteen (18), that resides in the USA, to work in conjunction with law enforcement agencies to reveal what information we have to prevent any possible future attacks against a minor.

For these reasons, we are informing you that if you reveal the identifying facts about your attacker/perpetrator, any Staff member that comes to know these, will be required to follow through with the actions stated in this reporting policy.
Identifying facts would include something like "I was living at 123 Any Street, in Browning, (State) when one day the man in the green house (or a guy that walks through our neighbohood everyday)...

We know it is said by some that revealing a secret takes the power away from the secret. We neither confirm or deny this, it is up to each individual member to decide, however, if you decide to reveal your secret, do NOT reveal the specific place(s), date(s), time(s), or other identifying facts about your attacker/perpetrator (their name or address, whether they were a friend a family member, so on, and so on).

While you may choose to describe the attack(s) against you, know that the staff may have to release all the information we have, if you reveal identifying facts regarding your attacker. This is for the protection of Your Sanctuary and/or A Sanctuary and all other sites directly attached to asanctuary.net.
A Staff member will, upon discovering the disclosure, immediately move the post into the Staff Area as we may be required to report the offense to your local law enforcement agency.

This reporting policy set forth here is subject to change or removal dependent upon legal counsel.
